Compatibility Testing

TelSoft's Compatibility Testing services test the functionality and performance of a software application across multiple platform configurations. This type of testing typically uncovers compatibility issues with operating systems, other software applications, and hardware components.

We will work with you to develop a Platform Matrix that includes the hardware, operating systems, software, and other components that your application is designed to work with. If testing your application with every possible component is cost prohibitive, we will work with you to design a Platform Matrix that includes configurations that are considered to be "Industry Standard". We will also make sure that the Platform Matrix used for testing fits within your budget.

Once the Platform Matrix is developed, our Test Engineers will create a Test Plan that will be executed on each configuration listed in the Platform Matrix. The Test Plan is sent to you for approval before any testing begins. Any errors or discrepancies that occur during the course of testing will be examined to determine exactly where the compatibility issue resides. All errors found by our Test Engineers will be entered into TelTRACK, giving you around-the-clock access to the testing results of your product.

Some typical compatibility tests include testing your application:

• On various client hardware configurations
• Using different memory sizes and hard drive space
• On various Operating Systems
• In different network environments
• With different printers and peripherals (i.e. zip drives, USBs, etc.)
• With specified third-party software installed (i.e. anti-virus software, browsers, multimedia plug-ins, etc.)

Our testing lab contains computers from industry leading manufactures including Dell, IBM, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, Gateway, and Sony. We have a wide array of desktop systems, servers, laptops, printers, hardware peripherals, and other devices from which we can simulate almost any real-world environment in which your product may be used.

Our software library includes a variety of packages including business software, accounting/finance applications, graphics software, anti-virus software, database applications, browsers, and multimedia plug-ins. Our OS library includes Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Home, Windows, XP Pro and Windows Vista. We also test on Mac OS X, Panther, and Leopard. We will build and custom configure test platforms that meet your specifications, in order to test your product in a true "end user" environment for compatibility verification.
